Search for septic pumping in Albany, Schenectady, or Troy and you will find a handful of haulers, a franchise plumber, and a pile of directories. Almost none of them tell you what a pump-out costs. Septic Pumping Albany exists to change that for the four counties we serve.
We publish typical ranges by tank size, explain the add-ons that move the number, and send you a written record after every visit. The goal is simple: make the three-to-five-year pump-out a routine chore instead of a mystery.
Service is scheduled through DEC-registered septage haulers, which New York requires for anyone transporting septic waste, with disposal at approved facilities such as the Albany County North Plant in Menands and Saratoga County Sewer District sites.
What you can expect on every job, from a routine pump-out in Guilderland to a real-estate inspection in Malta.

The tank is emptied of liquid, sludge, and scum. A partial draw that leaves sludge behind is not a pump-out, and we do not sell one.
While the tank is empty, the technician checks the inlet and outlet baffles and the effluent filter. Problems are noted in your record, not buried.
Upstate winters do not pause septic systems. We pump year-round whenever the truck can reach the tank, and we tell you ahead of time if snow or frozen ground will add a locating charge.
If your system needs an engineer, a county permit, or a repair we do not provide, we say so and point you to the right office. We do not sell additives or upsell work the tank does not need.
Every visit ends with a written note of tank size, condition, work done, and the next recommended service date, which is useful for your files and for a future home sale.
The Capital Region has thousands of septic systems outside the sewered cores. Albany County alone counted roughly 7,500 across Colonie, Bethlehem, Guilderland, and New Scotland in a 2010 survey.
Albany, Colonie, Guilderland, Bethlehem, and the hilltowns. Sandy Pine Bush soils to the west, Hudson valley clay toward the river.
Schenectady, Rotterdam, Glenville, Niskayuna, and Duanesburg, much of it over the Great Flats Aquifer, where well-kept septic systems matter for drinking water.
Troy, East Greenbush, Brunswick, Schodack, and the plateau toward Averill Park, where most homes outside the city rely on individual systems.
Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, Ballston Spa, Malta, Halfmoon, and Wilton, the fastest-growing part of the region, with local codes like Malta three-year pumping and Halfmoon yearly inspection in MS4 areas.
